Meet Our Team
Jamie Valdez — Principal Designer & Founder
Jamie grew up in Colorado and brings over 20 years of design experience working on projects across the country in both commercial and residential interiors. In 2019, she launched Backdrop Interior Design Studio with the vision of building a boutique firm that fosters close client relationships and personalized design solutions. Jamie thrives on guiding clients through the design process with creativity, clarity, and expertise. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband and two teenage boys, traveling, relaxing at the beach, and painting.
Rachel Laurel— Interior Designer
Originally from Minnesota, Rachel has called Colorado home for the past 13 years. She brings a fun, positive energy to the studio along with a sharp eye for detail and exceptional technical skills in interior design. Rachel is known for her creativity, organization, and ability to transform ideas into thoughtful, practical solutions. When she’s not designing, Rachel enjoys baking, spending time outdoors with her fiancé and her sweet pup, Cooper.
